"Communication with the editor was decent, but could’ve been better"
In my experience, the editor’s replies took a bit longer than I expected, which made the process feel slower at times. That said, the actual edits were mostly clear and easy to understand, so I still felt like I knew what needed to be changed.

I gave proofsyrup.com a try, and it was fine overall :) Nothing really went wrong, but I just didn’t feel like the value matched the price. It might be worth it for some people, but for me it felt a little overpriced for what you actually get :/

"Not the quality I expected"
They did catch a few typos, but they missed some obvious grammar issues. I ended up having to go back through it and fix a lot myself, which felt unfair since that’s what I paid them to do. If you’re offering proofreading as a service, you really should take the responsibility seriously

"Felt like my instructions weren’t really understood"
I went into this thinking my notes were clear, but the final result didn’t reflect most of what I asked for. From my side, it felt like the details I cared about were either missed or interpreted in a totally different way. I had to repeat the same points more than once, which got frustrating fast. Maybe it’ll work better for someone with simpler requirements, but for what I needed, it just wasn’t worth it.
